O Projeto
The CAFT Physical Assessment Clinic website was one of the most interesting projects I worked on. It was a clinic focused on high-performance athletes, equipped with state-of-the-art physical testing technology. From the beginning, the main challenge was to design a layout capable of conveying movement, dynamism, and speed — elements directly connected to sports and physical education.
At the same time, the website also needed to communicate technology, research, and analytical precision. After all, through the exam results provided by CAFT, athletes are able to refine their training strategies and significantly improve their performance.
Visual Challenge and Brand Identity
Another critical aspect involved the brand colors. The logo used two very strong and bold pantone tones, which made balancing contrast and visual harmony more complex. Nevertheless, those colors had to remain present in the layout while maintaining a professional and sport-oriented aesthetic.
For that reason, the visual composition required careful strategic decisions regarding contrast, whitespace, and information hierarchy. As a result, the identity of the Physical Assessment Clinic was preserved without compromising usability or clarity.
Development and Technical Resources
During development, I implemented several advanced CSS techniques — many of which were still considered innovative in 2017, a time when CSS3 was still being explored at its full potential. The goal was to create visual effects that reinforced the sense of motion while preserving performance and readability.
From a technical standpoint, the project was built using HTML5, CSS3 with LESS preprocessed via GULP, JavaScript/jQuery, and WordPress. This structure ensured content management flexibility while maintaining full control over performance, scalability, and code organization.
