The Roberto Marinho Foundation

The Roberto Marinho Foundation develops social impact projects primarily focused on education and culture, with recognized initiatives across different areas of learning and content. In this context, as a GM5 employee, I took part in building the institution’s unified portal—a digital platform created to centralize the foundation’s ecosystem and integrate brands such as Futura, Aprendiz Legal, Telecurso, co.liga, and co.educa into a single experience.

In this project, I worked as the lead front-end developer using React.js and Next.js. In addition, I collaborated closely with the back-end team, guiding API responses and implementing the necessary integrations.

Project UX

The platform layout was provided by the client, with an interesting visual proposal. However, it presented some limitations that I needed to resolve directly in the front-end development:

  1. Layout designed at 1440px, without proper consideration for Full HD screens and larger mobile devices such as tablets.
  2. A content grid with an organic approach, but without accounting for responsiveness.
  3. Very large typography, which hindered adaptation across different resolutions.
  4. Design system iconography created using outlines instead of paths, causing visual thickness variations depending on resolution.

Additionally, I contributed as a UX Designer in the evolution of features. As a result, my work involved both technical implementation and continuous improvement of the user experience.

Classroom

After the successful development of the platform and the client’s validation of the layout adjustments, a second, more robust demand emerged: the creation of an online classroom within the website. The Roberto Marinho Foundation platform already offers several free courses; therefore, logged-in users began taking them directly within the digital environment, with an interface inspired by established platforms such as Udemy, Udacity, and Coursera. In this context, I was responsible for the UX Design of the classroom, meeting the client’s needs, while also working on front-end development and integration with the back-end service.

Currently, the Roberto Marinho Foundation remains a client of GM5 Technology, and I continue to work on design adjustments and platform improvements.
