The Projects
GM5 Technology operates in the development of large-scale digital projects and platforms for the internet, specializing in frameworks such as LifeRay, Lumis, Drupal, ReactJS, NextJS, and WordPress. In addition, the company provides infrastructure support, maintenance, setup, and cloud server security services, including AWS, serving major enterprises.
I have been working at GM5 Technology for over 10 years. Initially hired as a front-end developer, I gradually expanded my role across different areas of the company. However, from early on, something stood out to me: although the company had a logo, it lacked a structured visual identity. For that reason, one of the first internal projects I developed was a complete brand redesign.
Brand Concept
To represent the company’s values, we chose the cat as the main symbol. This decision was not merely aesthetic. On one hand, it references the Japanese lucky cat, the “Maneki Neko.” On the other hand, both partners have always been passionate about cats, and their constant presence in the office environment naturally reinforced this association.
Beyond that, several concepts connected to the figure of the cat were incorporated:
- The intelligent guardian and strategist;
- Maneki Neko: sustainable prosperity, good decisions attract good results, long-term relationships, and a continuous flow of opportunities;
- Precise decision-making;
- Constant awareness;
- Clean code;
- Operational efficiency;
- Acting before problems escalate.
As a result, the new GM5 Technology identity began to reflect not only a visual symbol but also a clear strategic positioning.
Sites
Website Development
Once the new visual identity was approved, we moved forward with the development of the new website. Unlike many technology companies, GM5 Technology has never prioritized traditional marketing or self-promotion. Instead, its growth has primarily relied on referrals among directors, commercial managers, and professionals from client companies who have worked with GM5.
Throughout this process, several website versions were created.
Digital Strategy & Positioning
After conducting deeper strategic studies, we concluded in 2018 that the website needed to be fast, direct, and objective. Rather than explaining everything upfront, the idea was to create a sense of mystery and guide visitors toward scheduling an in-person meeting. This approach significantly increased conversion potential.
Therefore, the website was designed to function almost like an interactive presentation — similar to a dynamic PPT — highlighting the company’s strongest assets: its clients and case studies. The remaining details would naturally unfold during meetings.
From a technical perspective, the project was developed using a fully custom WordPress template built from scratch. The stack included HTML5, CSS3 with LESS preprocessed via GULP, JavaScript/jQuery, PHP, and MySQL. This structure ensured complete control over performance, architecture, and scalability.
